DIE ANTWOORD will perform for the first time in Bucharest, at the Arenele Romane, on June 16. Tickets will be available at dieantwoord.emagic.ro, tickets.emagic.ro and iaBilet.ro, in pre-sale, starting Thursday, January 30, at 11:00 AM. The sale to the general public will begin on Friday, January 31, at 11:00 AM.
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Die Antwoord has conquered the global audience with their unique mix of hip-hop, rap and EDM, combined with a provocative visual aesthetic. Formed in 2008, the controversial band, composed of vocalists Yolandi Visser, Ninja and their producer, DJ Hi-Tek, is known for their "trashy" and modern style, inspired by the works of Roger Ballen and the South African counterculture "Zef".
Their success came quickly, with the release of their debut album $O$, which attracted international attention thanks to the iconic video Enter the Ninja. Since then, the band has released hits such as I Fink U Freeky, Baby's On Fire, Ugly Boy and Cookie Thumper!, becoming one of the most controversial and acclaimed bands in the world. In addition to their music, Die Antwoord impresses with their visual creativity, their videos being true works of cinematic art. In 2014, the band headlined the Electric Castle festival.
In 2019, Die Antwoord took a break from constant touring around the world to dedicate themselves to their greatest passions: creating music and art. Five years later, in 2024, the band released a documentary "ZEF: The Die Antwoord Story", produced and directed by South African filmmaker Jon Day. The documentary's narrator is Sixteen Jones, the daughter of Ninja and Yolandi.
The band also confirmed the release of a new album, their sixth, which they are preparing to release, currently mentioning that it is Under Construction.
