The Show is unanimously considered by Édith Piaf's loved ones to be the most beautiful tribute ever brought to the singer's career and has played to sold-out audiences on the stages of famous theaters around the world, such as Carnegie Hall in New York or Olympia in Paris. From the beginning of her career in 1935 until her death in 1963, Édith Piaf, born Édith Giovanna Gassion, was and remains an iconic figure in the music world.
She is considered France's greatest singer and one of the most famous performers of the 20th century. In 1935, at the age of 20, while singing on the streets of Paris, Piaf was discovered by a nightclub owner. He instilled confidence in the promising performer, gave her the famous pseudonym (La Môme), which would later become part of her stage name, and catapulted her to stardom. She became famous for her remarkable songs such as "La Vie en Rose," "Non, je ne regrette rien," and "Milord." These songs quickly became musical masterpieces and are closely associated with the artist's unmistakable talent and passion. With a voice that moved deeply and lyrics that captured the hearts of listeners, Édith Piaf created music that has stood the test of time.
More than a century after her birth and 60 years after her passing into eternity (October 10, 1963), Edith Piaf's musical legacy lives on. Artists everywhere pay tribute to her by reinterpreting her famous songs. With shows like Piaf! The Show, artists like Nathalie Lermitte bring her life and music to the stage in a way that continues to delight audiences. Alain Delon said of Nathalie Lermitte: "Because she is a great singer and a great actress, she doesn't imitate Piaf... she is Piaf on stage!"
Nathalie Lermitte was born into a family of musicians and started singing at the age of six in her father's band, and at eighteen she released her first album «Tu es tout ce que j'aime», two singles selling over 400,000 copies. On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of Édith Piaf's death, Gil Marsalla and the company Directo Prod announced an impressive global tour, including no less than 120 concerts. They also received the Million Spectators trophy from the mayor of Nice (France).
