Big attractions at West Side Hallo Fest

What the West Side Hallo Fest Magical Set Will Look Like: Haunted Bus, Giant Pumpkin, 10-foot-tall Witch Are Just Some of the Attractions
For three days, between October 25-27, Lacul Morii Island in Sector 6 will turn into a magical land. Spectacular decorations, two stages, rock concerts, artists on stilts, contests, costume parade, unique workshops, but also culinary delights and decorations to take home, all these make West Side Hallo Fest an event not to be missed. Here are the main attractions and the full schedule!

From the moment you enter the island, visitors will be able to admire the arcades decorated with black and white canvases, ghosts, crows, old crates with pumpkins and corn, as well as several "blocked" windows with nailed boards. All to give the feeling of entering an abandoned, haunted town.

Further on, they will see a giant pumpkin, with a diameter of 2.5 meters, lit from the inside and built from natural materials, on an iron structure. It can be considered the symbol of the festival, as the whole island will be filled with 45 tons of pumpkins. 10,000 pieces are used in workshops, and another 5,000 for decoration.

The flower-filled "Butterfly" from the West Side Flower Fest is coming to Hallo Fest too, this time with wings laden with pumpkins.

Those who want thrills can get on board the Ghost Ride bus, a horror bus, or "house of ghosts". During the 7-10 minutes of the "house" tour, guests will be treated to a terrifying welcome: projections of ghosts and skeletons sitting at the table, talking paintings, lamps and candles that light up by themselves, out of the blue, and many other surprises that they will make their hearts race. It will be a multimedia journey full of mystery and adrenaline, with special effects and holograms, through which visitors will be transported into a world of ghosts, shadows and sinister surprises.

Outside again, the island is "watched over" by an oversized witch, almost three meters tall, whose good friend is a spider as huge as herself. The Halloween decor is completed by trees with crows, ghosts everywhere, skeletons, masks, a 100-year-old wagon full of straw bales and pumpkins, but also lots of autumn flowers.

Visitors, adults and children alike, are encouraged to join in the fun, complete this magical tableau and come in costume. Of course, they will be able to participate in a costume parade, and at the end they will win prizes from the sponsors.

Besides the scenery, the concerts and activities on the island are the second big attraction of the festival. The 32,000 sqm space will be divided into categories of interest, as follows: there will be an area with workshops for children, a stage for children, the big stage for performances and concerts, the activation area (workshops) of sponsors and partners, the area of traders and the area of food.

Free games and workshops for children

Throughout the three days, children can participate in free workshops, organized by DGASPC Sector 6, sponsors and partners of the event. Thus, there will be workshops for carving pumpkins, painting tangerines/oranges, recycling, making masks, etc. With the help of simulators, the little ones can walk through haunted houses, take pictures in specific Halloween decorations, participate in educational and sustainability games (e.g. about recycling batteries, the game of monopoly, games with witches' hats) or they can take pictures with their favorite mascots. On the children's stage, musical moments, plays, magic shows and a costume parade are scheduled.

The traders also prepared culinary delights and decorations as "scary" or in tune with autumn: Vlad Țepeș pizza, pies and ice cream with baked pumpkin, lollipops decorated with bats and witch hats, burgers "costumed" as frogs, earrings from ghost beads, spell book magnets, crystal globes, Halloween T-shirts and much, much more.

West Side Hallo Fest is the largest Halloween festival in the country. It takes place between October 25-27, on Lacul Morii Island, and is organized by the Town Hall of Sector 6. Entry is free all day on Friday (12.00 - 23.00), as well as on Saturday and Sunday, between 10.00 - 14.00. After this time, entry will be based on a wristband that costs 20 lei per day, or 30 lei for both days. Tickets can be bought on iabilet.ro. Children under 12 are free throughout the festival.
