Founded in November 2008, in a small town in the Tyrolean Alps (western Austria), Mother's Cake has developed its own style, starting from influences as varied as possible - The Mars Volta, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin or Bootsy Collins. Yves Krismer (guitar, vocalist), Benedikt Trenkwalder (bass) and Jan Haußels (percussion) play a mixture of funk, hard rock and progressive, psychedelic parts. Since the "Austrian Newcomer Award" obtained in 2013, the band travels a lot in Europe, Australia and Asia either for their own concerts, most often sold out, or as a guest group of bands such as Anathema, Limp Bizkit, Deep Purple, Iggy and the Stooges, Deftones and other sonic names. Their track record includes 3 studio albums and one live. Mother's Cake had a first concert in Bucharest in November 2022.
Along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple are considered to be one of the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
