UNTOLD’s new chapter was launched with a record-breaking performance by van Buuren on the Burj Khalifa
UNTOLD Festival has announced that it will make its Middle East debut in February 2024 at Expo City Dubai, UAE.
To launch the inaugural chapter, UNTOLD teamed up with Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren and the Burj Khalifa for a world-record performance on the tallest building on the planet and used the entire building as a LED backdrop for the show. The filmed world-record special will be available to watch later this summer.
The DJ line-up for the first-of-its-kind super festival is yet to be revealed, but van Buuren who has been a part of the festival since its inception in Romania in 2015, promises it will be “something special.”
“There's an unbelievably strong connection between myself, UNTOLD festival and its fans,” said van Buuren. “I don't think I've ever felt as alive as I do on stage at UNTOLD, and that makes this upcoming show at UNTOLD Dubai incredibly exciting.”
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), also commented, “Hosting events like UNTOLD at Expo City Dubai is the perfect way to demonstrate the city's capability to host mega-events, further reinforcing its position as an international events hub in line with the ambition of our visionary leadership to make Dubai the best city in the world to visit, live and work in.”
“I’m thrilled to be playing atop the Burj Khalifa and look forward to breaking two world records by doing what I love the most: playing music to all the fans that are so precious to me,” he said.
UNTOLD Festival is the largest electronic music festival held in Romania, held annually in Cluj-Napoca at the Cluj Arena. To officially launch the Dubai Festival, UNTOLD has teamed up with Armin Van Buuren, the world-renowned DJ who will prepare a live show from the Burj Khalifa, to break two world records: a live show at the highest height ever achieved on the tallest building on the planet, as well as the use during the show of the largest LED screen in the world.
Armin van Buuren is one of the most loved artists from the Romanian UNTOLD, being known throughout the world for the most complex mixes, every time he performs in Cluj (over 8 hours of show at UNTOLD 2019). Armin van Buuren has created an unprecedented connection with UNTOLD fans over the years, mainly because they share the same values, the idea that music unites the very essence of life, the souls of people.
Where will UNTOLD Dubai 2024 take place
UNTOLD Dubai promises to revolutionize entertainment and establish itself as the new representative image of this remarkable city. The festival, the first of its kind in the Middle East, will transform Expo City Dubai, the venue of the event, into a completely immersive and innovative experience that will ignite all the senses of the participants.
Dubai's renowned Expo City will serve as the cultural backdrop for UNTOLD Dubai, offering festival goers an experience that reflects the heart and soul of the city.
When you combine Dubai - the centerpiece of the world's largest tourist destination - with Dubai Expo City - the attraction that saw more than 30 million visits in the six months since its opening and the UNTOLD Festival, only one thing can result: the most epic experience at a festival, say the organizers.
