Frontiers/BAM
Perennial rock sisters Ann & Nancy Wilson returned to Canada to promote “Fanatic”, along with their usual greatest hits. Not only being inducted in the Rock´n´Roll Hall of Fame, the HEART sisters also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and released a definitive four CD box. This particular night at Caesar´s Colosseum in Windsor, Ontario, was also filmed by AXS-TV.
As can be expected “Fanatic” opened the proceedings, on quite a rocking note for my perception of HEART. Things get hotter as “What About Love” ensues, one of the night´s evergreens that really set the audience on fire. I personally also enjoy the gritty “Mashallah” while the feeling of unease spreads as “59 Crunch” moves on. For the final part the cunning sisters have saved the tender “Alone”, the stomp of “Crazy on You” and they sure do play it safe as “Barracuda” end the night.
Nothing much to complain about on this disc. The same old retro trap of cause as the newer s tracks feels less inspiring, as always when a band has been at it for many a year. But I must risk it: Where is “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You”?!
