Napalm Records/Sound Pollution
Geordie and Northern Ireland band THE ANSWER face the fourth release of their exciting but risky career. They exploded onto the scene in 2006 with “Rise” with their commercially useable brand of bluesy hard rock. But the real rocket ride has not quite taken off however agreeable albums like “Everyday Demons” and “Revival” have been. This time around they´ve put their studio trust in the hands of Toby Jepson (LITTLE ANGELS) and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, METALLICA). What´s next?
This might be one of the most even albums of 2013, as I only find “Concrete” less inspired and below a high set standard by the band. The seventies are revitalized by songs like the title track, “Leave with Nothin”, “Speak Now”, “Call Yourself a Friend” and the fantastic ending of “Scream a Louder Love”. But still, THE ANSWER lives by the 70-ies wave, and may die by it, you never know.
