The Treatment are back with a new linuep and a new album. "Generation me" will be the first album to feature the two new members - Tao Grey on guitar and Mitchel Emms on vocals. I was lucky enough to see one of their try-out shows before the new lineup was announced and even at that early stage I was impressed. Now that the new members have had time to settle in though, things have got even better.
The new album kicks off with "Let it begin", which is also the first single to be released from the album - check out the video....
It's probably not the song I'd have picked as the first single, but that's because there are several songs that could have done just as well as a single - in fact the album is packed with them. "The devil", "I know she knows" and "Bloodsucker" are all strong contenders to be released as a single, but I think my choice would have been the final track on the album - the excellent "Light the sun".
While the last album may have had too much of an ACDC sound, with this one I think they've got more of their own sound. Certainly I think this is their strongest album yet. The songs are really strong with nice catchy choruses, great riffs, and the vocals from Mitchel Emms are superb - he's got a great voice for rock. I think this album is going to win over rock fans who weren't quite convinced by the band's earlier albums.
This is a great album and one that rock fans should check out even if they weren't fans of the band's earlier albums.
