NAI HARVEST and TOPSHELF RECORDS announce plans for new album in 2015 | FESTIVALPHOTO

NAI HARVEST and TOPSHELF RECORDS announce plans for new album in 2015

The hard-touring two-piece Nai Harvest celebrate a fine, and busy, 2014 for the band that has taken in tours with Superheaven across UK Europe, packed festival shows at Tramlines, Bestival and Beacons, a sold out headline show at The Old Blue Last and which culminates in a US headline tour (starting this week) and dates for Rough Trade at CMJ.

Alongside all the live activity, and following the release of an EP and standout single "Buttercups" in August that showed the band's sound maturing but losing none of its edge, Nai Harvest and Topshelf Records are proud to announce that the band will be releasing their second LP on the label in early 2014.

Nai Harvest have a habit of surprising people and their sophomore LP will really reflect that. Racing through the 90's influenced indie rock and hazy indie-pop that's become expected of the band at this point, it also takes some sharp turns into garage punk and feedback-laden grunge.

The new album, as yet untitled, turns its back on the mathy trappings of earlier material, instead focusing on memorable hooks, reverb and fuzz, all held together by crashing cymbals and a memorable rhythm section. It's safe to say that long time fans, and fans anew, will not be dissapointed.

The group head into the studio in November to finish the record and will tour the UK in full around the release (Spring 2015).

Nai Harvest are:
Ben Thompson – guitar and vocals
Lew Currie – drums

Previous praise for Nai Harvest:

"fizzy, scuzzy indie-rock... and man can they write a great hook."
Rough Trade NYC

“The intoxicated tantrums of their striking debut ‘Whatever’ have given way to a manageable, strangely enjoyable hangover on ‘Hold Open My Head’… clean guitars cycle in a dream state during the verse and hitch in off-kilter rhythms during the hook” – Pitchfork

“… their crafty plays on rhythm and dexterously executed shredding are anything but average” – MTV Iggy

“… hook-laden… the track applies the band's knack for ramshackle punk and emo sensibilities to riffs far meatier and muscular than anything they've produced before” – DIY

“… calms down the post-hardcore tendencies of Whatever and veers more towards emo's indie rock side” – Brooklyn Vegan

“cult Sheffield punks” – NME
