Grammy-Award winning artist Scott Stapp releases the deeply personal Proof of Life on January 20th 2014 via Spinefarm Records in the UK.
Proof of Life – frontman Stapp’s second solo album following on from 2005’s ‘The Great Divide’, a platinum US release – was produced by Howard Benson (Halestorm, Papa Roach, P.O.D.) and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge; it features 11 new songs, including lead track, ‘Slow Suicide’:-
As vocalist with US outfit CREED, Stapp has sold nearly 30 million albums around the world, had three Grammy nominations and one win for ‘Best Rock Song’ with ‘With Arms Wide Open’, plus 11 US Number One Singles.
To date, Creed have put out six US gold & multi-platinum albums, establishing themselves as a huge international force to be reckoned with…
And now, Stapp returns to solo duty with ‘Proof of Life’, featuring drummers Kenny Aronoff & Josh Freese, plus guitarists Phil X & Ken Pierce, amongst others.
Says Stapp:-
“This is the most meaningful record of my career. I’ve made a lot of messes in my life, but I’ve learnt that I can take a mess and turn it into a message. This album chronicles my struggles, my journey and it’s the most honest record I have ever written.”
Having published his autobiography, the ultra-candid ‘Sinner’s Creed’, last year, Stapp is now ready to continue his solo musical journey, and ‘Proof of Life’ is sure to appeal to the legions of Creed fans, along with anyone with an ear for a good song delivered direct from the heart…
“Y’know,” continues Stapp, “the fans have always meant everything to me, and over the years they’ve come to me and told me how through my music they’ve gotten through the worst of times, and that hit me. With this album, it’s the first time that when I listened back to the tracks, it became a cathartic experience for me.”
A life-long Christian and a dedicated rocker, Stapp is looking to start a world tour in March 2014.
