Future Music (Sydney) Future Music Festival is an annual Australian dance music festival held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Kuala Lumpur and is normally held in late February - early March. The festival has been headlined by notable acts including The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, New Order and The Stone Roses. The festival began in 2008 as a traveling festival like the Big Day Out and Soundwave which visited Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide with The Chemical Brothers as the headline act, along with a range of other electronic, dance and indie rock acts. Since 2008, the Future Music Festival has annually traveled to Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide during a two-week period. In December 2011, Future Entertainment announced that the Future Music Festival would expand out to Asia for the 2012 festival with a show held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was headlined by The Chemical Brothers who headlined the first ever Future Music Festival in Australia. The Asian leg of the festival has a similar to the one in Australia with a mixture of local and international acts. Boasting the best Australian acts, DJs, and international stars, Future Music Festival is guaranteed to provide state of the art audio and visual technology: expect a barrage of neon colors and bright lights to accompany the sounds of your favorite acts.
