--Bypass road update--

As promised, we are sharing with you the current situation regarding the bypass road in Tolmin and what impact it has on MetalDays 2022.

The construction site will take up a large part of the camp space as well as the space where our main stage stands.
Therefore, it is necessary to make certain changes in the configuration of the festival itself.
Although the festival is feasible in the same dimensions as before, the following changes are necessary:
1. Group camping will not be possible this year.
2. Parking & Camping part of the festival camp will be much smaller than usual.
3. A certain number of cars will have to be parked about 5 min walking distance from the festival in the area we normally used for additional 1day parking.
4. The main stage will have to be slightly smaller than usual and there are two options regarding the location:
Option A: The main stage remains in the same place as before. The area of the main stage will be smaller than usual, and the place for visitors will be obtained in such a way that the big tent behind the mixing desk tower will be removed.
Option B: The main stage moves to the 2nd stage position, and the 2nd stage goes to the New Forces Stage location, near the second beach.

Needless to say, there will be enough space for camping. Soca and Tolminka are not part of the construction work, so both rivers will be as clean as before, and will offer the same conditions for swimming and fun on the beaches.

Of course, all change brings with it also unpleasant experiences, but you can be relaxed; we will do our best to make you feel less of this change, and we will do our best so that you can enjoy the festival as you have so far.

For now, we are not 100% sure which of these two options will be final, but we guarantee that in no case will you be deprived of the experience you are used to and expect from MetalDays.

The festival map will be published sometime in May when we are 100% sure what all the changes in the setting of the festival will look like.

We want you to know that we are really enjoying the production of the 2022 festival. It is great to be back at what we do best and we can’t wait to see you all together again after such a long break.

EARLY ARRIVAL

Unfortunately, Early Arrival will not be possible in 2022.
This decision is conditioned due to the construction works on the road that is being built on the site of the festival.
Please understand, and we urge you not to come earlier than necessary because you will not be able to enter the camp before 24.07.2022 at 08:00.
We emphasise that you will have more than enough time to set up your tents and settle in before the concert.

Total Lunar Eclipse?
MetalDays fans! For all the nerds out there, but also for our dreamers : did you know, that you will have an unique chance to enjoy MetalDays festival AND follow Total Lunar Eclipse?


I know you didn't, but we do! Total Lunar Eclipse will begin on 27 Jul, 21:30:15, reaching its maximum eclipse at 22:21:44 and ending at 23:13:11. Which means that somewhere between Cannibal Corpse and Epica on Lemmy stage and Goatwhore and Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult on Second stage, our Moon will vanish and come back again!

How epic is that?


We will take care of good music in between, however you need to take care of all the party and good weather with no clouds, yes, that is on you! :)

A Greener Festival award winner!
MetalDays and AGF Award!
We are so very proud that MetalDays have attained a Greener Festival Award 2017 for the second year in a row!

Festivals and events from 12 countries participated in the award in 2017. Applicants undergo a rigorous assessment, site visit and post event analysis of their events sustainability actions. Events are assessed on 11 main areas including transport, waste, power, water and local area impacts.

An Awards ceremony for winners was held at Eurosonic Noorderslag, Netherlands on Thursday 18th January, 2018. AGF Director’s Teresa Moore and Claire O’Neill presented certificates to winners.

Claire O’Neill, A Greener Festival Co-Founder commented, “We are extremely proud of the winners of the AGF and TGEA awards. They have to meet very strict criteria to be awarded, and their actions and passion for sustainability set them aside as the future of festivals and events in the industry. There’s always further to go, and these winners are paving the way for the benefit of us all.”

We are so very proud, that our small steps and improvements into ecology and sustainability direction are showing to be the right one and that they do have impact. We have made so many little steps, that we have already stopped counting them. But - just a reminder of a few of them : few years ago we started to supply every visitor with biodegradable tent pegs, last year we have replaced all the plastic cups, spoons, forks, plates etc. with biodegradable ones, our toilet papers and napkins are made of recycled and organic materials, we have running clean and drinkable water thru the festival area, that allows our festival visitors to refill their bottles at all times (yes, there is no need for plastic water bottles from the shop), we have installed a new sewage and drainage system, that will reduce the amount of plastic chemical toilets used at the festival area, we are the pioneers and have invented so called "garbage deposit" that motivate every visitor to clean up his/her own thrash, we replaced 50% of meat and dairy food with vegan food, and so many more... Of course all of this little steps towards our Green journey to reduce environmental impact of our festival would not be possible without you, our dear visitors.
Therefore we would like to encourage you even more to help us and cooperate with us in our green journey endeavours!

Single girls camping on MetalDays!

Are you a single girl, travelling alone and want to meet and hang out with other girls at the festival? On the festival camping area, right next to the Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister stage (beginning of the camp), on the right hand side, next to the first warm showers, there will be an area in the camp, that is near all the important facilities, offers secure access and additional light, so we believe the spot is perfect for those, who maybe feel a little bit insecure in sleeping alone. Don't be shy, join the Single girls camping area, enjoy and have fun!

Keeping up the lovely tradition from year 2016, we have decided to organize real and legitimate MetalDays wedding in year 2017; so, everyone - please welcome MetalDays Wedding #2!

We are very curious - are there any couples out there amongst our visitors, that would like to get bounded for forever (and ever) to your loved one and want to share that with our visitors as well? We will help you in making it happen! We are aware that there will be quite some logistics and paperwork needed (from your side as well), but hey...we are here to help.

MetalDays receives AGF Award for ecology and sustainability
The many small steps and improvements towards eco-friendliness and sustainability have paid off: The MetalDays Festival was honored with an AFG Award 2016. The A Greener Festival Award (AFG), that just celebrated its 10th anniversary, goes to festivals that show outstanding efforts concerning ecology and sustainability. For 2016, 25 festivals across 13 countries were awarded. The award’s committee applauds MetalDays’ significant engagement with the process of reducing its environmental impact and its great communication and cooperation with the audience as exemplary.

A few years ago, the festival organizers started to supply every visitor with biodegradable tent pegs and since last year, all plastic crockery is replaced with biodegradable dishes, toilet papers and napkins are made of recycled and organic materials, they serve vegan food and running clean and drinkable water through the festival area allows the festival visitors to refill their bottles at all times so that there is no need for additional plastic water bottles. They furthermore installed a new sewage and drainage system, that will reduce the amount of plastic chemical toilets used at the festival area.
The organizers of MetalDays are proud and happy about the award and consider it an incentive. They empathize the role of every single visitor in this “green journey” to reduce the environmental impact of the festival that has only just begun and would not be possible without everyone's help and cooperation. There’s only one month left until more than 100 bands will take the stage at MetalDays. The three latest additions to the lineup are England’s Blitzkrieg who will replace M.O.D., Canada’s Striker who will perform instead of Wehrmacht, Schirenc Plays Pungent Stench replacing Broken Hope and the winner of Austrian Metalchamp contest, SiliuS.
With the billing of 2015 MetalDays being final now, the running order section on metaldays.net shows the play times for each band.

In order to prepare all the visitors for the festival, the area map is published. Besides all the obvious whereabouts, it contains the new supermarket: For the first time, MetalDays will offer an entire store’s range of goods on the camping ground to ease shopping for the visitors.

Another useful service, though not for the first time at MetalDays, is the tent renting service of mein-zelt-steht-schon.de, which offers prepared roosts for everyone who doesn’t want to get stressed with schlepping and pitching their tent.

The wait is over: The pre-sale of 1-Day-Tickets for the MetalDays was finally launched!

There’s a specific day at the festival you just don’t want to miss out because all your favorite bands are playing? Click here, choose your preferred day and get your e-ticket right now! The tickets are available for only 49€ and limited to 500 tickets per day.

New bands, cancellations and replacements

There are a few news for you concerning the MetalDays line-up: Unfortunately Darkest Hour, Cattle Decapitation, The Contortionist and Internal Bleeding aren’t able to perform at this year’s MetalDays due to the current Dollar-Euro exchange rate. Many bands cancelled whole tours and unfortunately MetalDays was no exception.

But luckily, there are already adequate replacements: Please welcome sludge legends Crowbar, French deathcore squad Betraying The Martyrs, Blutmond from Switzerland as well as the US death metallers from Broken Hope. Furthermore, Bavarian dark metal specialists Dark Fortress are part of this year’s line up.

LET'S TAKE A STROLL DOWN THE MEMORY LANE!

Another week of partying with good and loud music in Tolmin is coming closer every day. But many visitors of our and your favourite festival can only guess how it was back in 2004 when hard riffs and thundering drums filled Tolmin with sound for the first time. A new festival was built from the mud and over the years it has grown into an event for which we return to Tolmin every year.

We would like to invite everybody who spent that rainy weekend in Tolmin to help us awake memories. Share your beautiful, funny or crazy story with us and the MetalDays fans. Did you swim in the river Soča despite the rain? Do you remember the small stage at the beach with promising bands playing? How did you like Danzig? What about the storm during Hypocrisy’s show, which stopped neither the band nor the audience? Any happenings from the camp? Did torrent flush away your pot with pasta? Have you met the love of your life? Or did you make interesting friends?
We believe that there are lots of stories. Write them down and send them to us. Add a photo or two and we will publish them (with your permission of course :-) ). At the end, we will choose someone who will get festival tickets for the MetalDays 2015. It is definitely worth giving it a shot and maybe you'll experience another memorable adventure in Tolmin.

In a nutshell, it features every basic information and impressions you need to know about the upcoming festival in July 2015: Beers at the beach, headbanging while wearing a bikini, crowdsurfing musicians and – of course – a quick look at the 98 bands, that are confirmed so far and will shape the line-up this year. MetalDays - “What Else Matters?”

A legend is doing the honors: We proudly present you Riot, one of the pioneers of American Power Metal. After moving years including line-up changes, farewells, comebacks and even more exciting live shows, the band will play for you in Tolmin this summer. Espacially for all you oldschool 80’s metalfolks out there. For all of you who enjoy yourselfs more listening to annihilating grunts and insane blastbeats will find Cattle Decapitation very satisfying. Warm up your necks and let your heads roll! The band enriches their progressive and partially catchy Death Metal with grindcore elements to create a haunting, gloomy but always thrilling sound. Haunting? Gloomy? Thrilling? Sounds very much like Helheim. You should not even try to look for flutes, tromps or jew’s harps here - the band has plain audible Black Metal influences that take the listener on a journey to the upper north while crossing rough, cold and dark realms. Out of a more tropcial area the maltesian Beheaded are going to give a you a hellish perfomance aswell. The sixth and final headliner for Metaldays 2014 is certain: Children Of Bodom! Time travel is no longer science fiction, but a perfectly feasible journey and Kadavar can take you there! The Berlin trio creates rock in genuine manner, still remembered from the good old days when music was still an art. There is definitely some art in Valient Thorr as well! They bring a good portion of humor, thought-provoking lyrics and the skills of conjuring some videos from outer space, produced only with some small magic auxiliaries. You might now think: "Aww.. c'mon!" Watch the video. They already rocked club stages all over Europe and played as opening act for W.A.S.P. – Alpha Tiger are one of the most popular German newcomer bands that are rising from the underground. This is heavy metal at its finest – soaked in young blood! Similar to Metalsteel, who reveal you that also the younger generations in Slovenia breed authentic and honest heavy metal! This is the perfect soundtrack for you to go crazy at the Metaldays. A good representative of the great newcomer scene in the UK are Cruel Humanity! They already played two times at our partner festival Bloodstock Open Air (UK)! A real treat for all of you who dig modern thrash metal is Inciter. Their interesting vocals sure elevates them from the gray average. Enjoy the show of the Serbian melodic metal champions Alogia! The perfectionists know how to handle their instruments and fascinate the audience. In every lineup, there is one band name, that you either forget immediately or remember forever. Space Unicorn On Fire. They will take you on a journey, arouse you from your daydreams and let you take part in their wildest ideas. Confused? One dose of burning outer space unicorn will bring relief. From progressive tones to the extreme realms – Rest In Fear covers an expressive wide range and will set every metalhead in front of the stage in motion. They delivered a terrific debut with "Insert Yourself" and will present themselves at their best in Tolmin. Another band that conquers the stage two years in a row now is Within Destruction. We are proud to present you a bloody hell of a live act – Volbeat! Who doesn’t know the Elvis of Metal? Who can resist the sympathic voice of Michael Poulsen? Be thrilled by this high-energy live show! The musical opposite is truly given by the technical Death Metal pioneers Suffocation, they ensure broken necks! But what kind of line-up would it be without one of the cofounders of Death Metal itself? We don’t want to make a secret of Possessed, joining this year Metaldays. With Alcest and their self-made genre “Blackgaze” we embark on a journey into new musical realms and to forraign worlds. Enough of chill-out music? No worries! It's taking way too long for the common Metalhead, but next July 12.000 of them will celebrate their heroes in the paradisaical Tolmin! Under the sun, in front of the stage, at the beach, in the water, in the shades of the trees and at the bar we will jump around, party and relax! The METALDAYS 2014 in Tolmin take place from July 20th until 26th. Two more headliner and many more brilliant bands can be confirmed today, so the pleasant anticipation will keep on growing. One of the Big 4 will visit us next year at the METALDAYS – a huge welcome to Megadeth! Dave Mustaine and his fellows strike up the Symphony Of Destruction and will headline next years festival! Just like Sabaton, who will fill the Julian Alps with their bombastic sound. From a small Swedish town to New York – the death metal lords from Immolation, who rule the underground for more than a quarter of century, are far from being your ordinary extreme metal band. Neither is the Polish band Vader! In their three decades long career they became a synonym for Eastern European death metal, recorded eleven albums and participated in countless crusades over Europe and other continents. Also new on board: Inquisition, founded by Dagon in the underground of Colombian heated streets, the band raised above the underground black metal scene to become one of the leading artist in the genre. METALDAYS festival in Tolmin from JUNE 20th to 26th 2014! The first headliner is confirmed: Opeth, early pioneers when it comes to Death Metal, who quickly developed into musical planeswanderers. Result: goosebumps in the middle of the summer! Also freshly confirmed: Tiamat, who also present an amazing progress with their music. They will take you into their obscure and hypnotical darkness. Calderah - hardcore brain drill
We never stop our search for fresh blood. This time, we took a look around in Austria and found CALDERAH, the winners of the Metalchamp battle. These energetic youngsters, who like to define their music as hardcore metal / rock, will undoubtedly convince you of their prowess with their powerful performance that cuts straight into the brain. Check them out at METALDAYS 2013!
Calderah is an energetic Hardcore Metal Rock band from Austria. The Band was formed in 2006. After some early shows and band member obscurities a sort of magic triangle persisted. Riff checker Jakob, drum captain Basty and bass-face Orso shape this fundamental. Through a succession of riffs and consequential growing song material they picked out five numbers which was recorded within 3 days and named it “THE FIVE ELEMENT”.
In 2012 they have been promoting their new record and receiving very good reviews. They also started playing live shows and by the way they won the Austrian Metalchamp2013. If you need a powerful live performance straight into your mind Calderah invite you to come to their show.

Samael - Swiss precision!
A band straight from the land of cheese, watches and fine chocolate: SAMAEL. They formed in late eighties as an old-school black metal act and slowly progressed to industrial metal. They are considered one of Europe’s most unique metal acts. No matter the stage of their musical development, SAMAEL never took any compromises and always kept their distinctive sound. In July l SAMAEL will again sit on their Baphomet's throne and rule the METALDAYS festival with their intensive live performance.
S A M A E L existed long before brothers Vorphalack and Xytraguptor began turning gears in a bunker on the 14th of July 1988 – but that was the day it awoke. While practicing daily during that summer, the duet had one thing in mind: conquer the world.



The first small step toward that goal was the recording of their self-financed EP Medieval Prophecy in October ’88. The following year they wrote more songs and played shows in Germany, France, Switzerland and Poland, before taking the decisive step to record an album. On their way to rehearsal on the 12th of December 1989, the brothers stopped by bassist Masmiseîm’s place to talk him into joining S A M A E L . He accepted on the spot but remained with his former band Alastis for a few months.



The trio booked a studio for March 1990, and by April 1991, debut album Worship Him became the first release on newly-formed French label Osmose Productions. With this incisive step, S A M A E L began its invasion of the worldwide underground. A crucial series of concerts culminated with two monumental shows in Moscow. The following year the band signed a multi-album deal with fast growing label Century Media. By autumn 1992, Xytraguptor, Masmiseîm and Vorphalack were in studio, working for the first time with producer Waldemar Sorychta. From that recording session emerged Blood Ritual, 11 tracks of occult dark metal. Following its release, the band set out on its first European tour with label mates Unleashed and Tiamat. Later shows included the band’s first appearance at German festivals Wacken Open Air and Popkomm.



His head boiling with new ideas, Xytras took over composing Samael’s music while Vorphalack focused on lyrics. As the new songs were taking shape, it became clear that keyboards were needed for the next album, leading the band to invite local goth Rodolph H. to come ride a few miles with them. Recorded and mixed in 10 days at Woodhouse studios in Hagen, Germany, Ceremony of Opposites crowned S A M A E L as rulers of the underground. The album took the band on three European tours and their first North American tour (where they opened for Cannibal Corpse). To keep the band on the road, S A M A E L recorded Rebellion in February 1995, an EP that included an Alice Cooper cover (“I Love the Dead”) and an instrumental track constructed entirely with programmed drums, the latter presaging the future of the band’s evolution.



For fourth album Passage, Waldemar Sorychta went to Switzerland for pre-production work and was surprised with all the changes that occurred in the band since the Ceremony album. Rodolph was no longer part of the team, Xy moved from the drums to the keyboards and programmed all drum parts on a machine. The band had also hired a second guitar player named Kaos. A few months later, in Woodhouse studio again but with more time to spend, the band recorded 15 new songs and new versions of two songs from Ceremony of Opposites. The bulk of the tracks were used on Passage, while six of them were saved for an EP – Exodus – to be released later on. The overwhelming reaction of journalists invited to the studio to listen to some of the new songs was a positive sign; Passage was no ordinary album. The band’s credibility and popularity skyrocketed after the album’s release. A first headlining tour all over Europe was followed by many festival appearances including Dynamo Open Air, Wacken Open Air and With Full Force.



After the phenomenal success of Passage, in order to stay relevant to their artistic ideals, the band had to further develop their views and enlarge the spectrum of their music. Their already unique sound would be enriched with rock elements and with experimentations flirting with jazz and electronica. Eternal was the result, a self-produced album recorded in the nearby Mountain Studio; the album was engineered and mixed by David Richards, more known for his work with Queen and David Bowie than for his association to metal. Xy and Vorph would go to London to master the album with Toni Cousin (veteran of various Peter Gabriel and Genesis projects), another name alien to

S A M A E L’s usual surroundings. Following the release of Eternal in August 1999, the band embarked on their first headlining tour of North America. The next year saw the band playing selected summer festivals including Artefacts Festival in Strasburg (France) where they shared the stage with Iron Maiden.



The title of Eternal proved appropriate as of 2001 when the band entered a period of stasis. Session guitarist Kaos, who had been with S A M A E L for five years, announced that he wanted to retire from music; Vorph and Xy worked on different side projects; Mas built his own recording studio. In that entire year, S A M A E L practically did not exist. In January 2002, eager to give Eternal a proper European tour, the brothers started to look for a new guitar player; one name came highly recommended and all it took was a phone call from Xy, and Makro – from doom metal act Sludge – became the fourth member the band so desperately needed.



Summer 2002 saw S A M A E L back on its feet and ready to kill, playing their first show at Summer Breeze Festival (Germany), a concert that was immortalized with the release of the Black Trip DVD. At the beginning of 2003 the band toured Europe despite the fact that Vorph broke his ankle just before the tour commenced; he played all shows sitting on a chair, proving that nothing could stop the rejuvenated quartet in their undying quest to move forward. The appropriately named “Redemption Tour” then made its way through North America, with support coming from Strapping Young Lad and Cathedral.



By January 2004 S A M A E L completed working on their long-delayed next album. Xy wanted an external ear on the recording, and so called the dependable Sorychta, who drove to Switzerland to check out the new material and put his magic touch on the album. Recording was done in three different studios in Switzerland, and for the mix the band flew to Sweden to utilize the services of Stefan Glaumann. Reign of Light was the first album released on the band’s own imprint, Galactical Records; licenses were granted to Regain Records for Europe and Nuclear Blast for the US. The album got tremendous feedback from the international press and was named “album of the month” in a few European magazines, including Germany’s Metal Hammer. In Paris, the band was awarded Best Industrial Metal Album by Hard Rock magazine. Two singles were extracted from Reign of Light: “Telepath,” for which a video clip was shot, and “On Earth,” which also featured a cover of Depeche Mode’s “I Feel You.”

The seventh S A M A E L opus, Solar Soul, was released in June 2007 and followed a nearly identical pattern to Reign of Light: the creation, recording and mixing processes were done the same way at the same places with the same people. Musically and lyrically the album was an attempt at summarizing the spirit of S A M A E L. “Valkyries’ New Ride” was chosen as the first single (only available on download), and a video clip was shot for “Slavocracy,” where for the first time all members of the band were featured. Between their European and North American tour the band took a short break to put the final touches on Above, a side project that had been a long time in the making. The album was mixed in a few days during summer 2008, and when mastering was done it was decided it would be the new S A M A E L album. Above was released in February 2009 in Europe – March 7th in North America – and the band went back on the road for a marathon tour starting in the US, going twice around Europe and culminating with the band’s first-ever visit to South America, where they headlined the 2010 edition of Rock al Parque playing in front of 100,000 metal fans.



On November 19th 2010, Antigod was unleashed. Originally intended as a single, it eventually took the shape of an EP due to the amount of tracks; one them being the re-recording of “Into the Pentagram,” which first appeared on 1988’s Medieval Prophecy EP. The appearance of this refurbished old song effectively built a bridge over the band’s two decades of musical evolution, and their return album, Lux Mundi – released in Europe through Nuclear Blast in April 2011 and in North America through Season of Mist in July –shines brightly above it.

It's time for some real Norwegian Black Metal that arrives to the METALDAYS festival straight from the North. Bergen's TAAKE will provide true old school Black Metal performance. It’s front man and absolute band leader Hoest swears to darkness and decay. For years he stands on the battlefront of true black metal and defends the legacy that originates in his home town. In the midst of hot summer, TAAKE will create the icy atmosphere of real hellish hate on the METALDAYS 2013 stage.

Hey-ho METALDAYSies - what's the crucial item the lack of which would render an event a cosmic joke? Exactly, a fucking RUNNING ORDER! Now what's the crucial item you've been missing until now? Exaaaactly... take "UNTIL NOW" for granted and hit the "LINE-UP AND RUNNING ORDER" link in the sitemap, fellows! Wanna know how shit works?


Right next to the "In alphabetic order" button you find 5 new motherfuckers, each one giving you the running order for one out of five METALDAYS – hit the mofos! Better yet, each band's panel indicates the band's gig duration by its height. Later, when everything's confirmed, the play and pause times will be visible in there, too. Also, when you compare main stage and 2nd stage against each other, you can easily see which bands are going to overlap (playtimes on both stages (partially) simultaneous), as the panels are arranged by timeline.

ATTENTION: it's a good idea to check this section from time to time, since there will be changes here and there. This is because we are still refining the running order, but would like to share it with you nevertheless ;-)

SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH is the newest musical coup of this metal-master, which is completely dedicated to the glorious hymns of the heavy-metal-legends Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Oh yeah, James Rivera’s SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH is a pure Black Sabbath and Judas Priest Tribute Band! With a wide range of all-star-musicians the Helstar-mastermind is travelling from city to city, to awake the myth and spirit of old-school-days for a new. Luckily James Rivera will also stop at your METALDAYS! Time for nostalgia-feelings!
BIOGRAPHY:


SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH, a tribute to heavy metal icons Black Sabbath (primarily the Dio years) and Judas Priest, is a product of Houston, Texas–based national recording artist, James Rivera. The front man is best known for his long running career as the voice behind Progressive Thrash metallers HELSTAR, a cult metal band that was popular in the 1980’s, which in recent years, has resurfaced with a reunited lineup. Rivera is also famous for his opuses DESTINY’S END and DISTANT THUNDER, in addition to his stint with San Francisco Bay area group VICIOUS RUMORS, as well as SEVEN WITCHES. Although the singer has had quite a productive and lengthy music career, Rivera chose to create tribute bands to perform with during times when he is on break from recording or touring with his original acts.

Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, two of Rivera’s main idols, have played a highly influential role in his musical profession. Many have compared Rivera’s singing capabilities to the vocal styles of Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio. As a great form of flattery, Rivera felt it appropriate to showcase the effects these artists have had on his music career by dedicating his tribute bands to them.

SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH came to fruition in 2002, although Rivera actually started this concept years earlier as two separate tributes; CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE, A Tribute to Black Sabbath and METAL GODS, A Tribute to Judas Priest. Both tribute bands originated in Houston, Texas, and became a commodity in the local metal scene, also performing regionally, as well as outside of Texas. Rivera ultimately decided to combine the forces of the two bands to create one superior tribute band, in which he chose the fitting moniker of SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH.

Eventually, demand in other market territories including regional, Texas, and out-of-state areas, heightened the band’s exposure. This led Rivera to develop chapters of SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH in various cities and states where it has the strongest followings. These chapters extend across the U.S., in the cities of Houston, Texas, and El Paso, Texas, as well as the states of Florida and Utah, and at one time even in Phoenix, Arizona. In the year 2009, Rivera composed the first European-based SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH and held the band’s premier overseas show in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This opportunity has opened the doors for SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH to perform and tour in Europe. The European metal community is already familiar with Rivera from his main acts and the continent provides a broader market for these specialty shows.

Rivera has chosen musicians for SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH that he feels are “top notch” and can effectively hypnotize audiences with a musical illusion of being at a Black Sabbath or Judas Priest concert. The crowds are always in awe over the intensity of the songs SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH performs from their favorite groups.
