GROOVE ON STAGE @ B'ESTFEST SUMMER CAMP

At B’ESTFEST Summer Camp, the public can enjoy, apart from all the cool music, three days and three nights of new experiences and activities. For this reason, the festival will partner up with Groove ON this year as well. For this edition, the whole concept will have a bigger space allocated for the “octagonal stage” whose line-up will include a lot of jazz, funk, broken-beat, idm, breakbeat, DNB, electro and hip-hop DJs. Presented by Ciuc Premium and Coca-Cola and powered by Vodafone, this year’s edition will take place in B’ESTFEST Park between the 6th and 8th of July and already includes artists such as Garbage, Pulp, Royksopp, Selah Sue, Caro Emerald, Skindred, Trolley Snatcha or Modestep.

Last year’s Groove On area was a smashing hit, being one of the most sought after attractions of the festival. Last year, the “octagonal stage” was the place for hip, creative and happy people and starting this year, fans will have an even larger area to enjoy the groovy atmosphere. In keeping of last year’s tradition, Groove ON wishes to create events that reunite artists from various genres, the “octagonal stage” thus becoming a creative zone, a meeting place of ideas, of people and of the beautiful arts but also a place where people exchange energy. Situated in the middle of the Bazzar, the Groove ON stage is conceived as a vast relaxation zone which will never lack in music. Various artists will create the mood with jazz, funk, broken-beat, reggae, idm, breakbeat, DNB, electro and hip-hop rythms. There will be live interventions (concerts and jam sessions) but also film projections, VJ-ing or image workshops. Artists such as Zicu, UFe, Jo.E, Rotopercutor and many others will perform on this stage.

BLAZING VIBEZ - A REGGAE STAGE @ B'ESTFEST SUMMER CAMP

During this year’s edition of B’ESTFEST Summer Camp, reggae fans will have a dedicated stage, the Blazing Vibez Stage which will gather the best Romanian DJs, MCs and selectahs. The schedule will cover all the muscial styles associated with reggae: roots, dub, reggae, new roots, dancehall, rocksteady, rub-a-dub and jungle. Presented by Ciuc Premium and Coca-Cola and powered by Vodafone, B’ESTFEST Summer Camp will take place between the 6th and 8th of July and includes names such as Garbage, Pulp, Royksopp, Selah Sue, Caro Emerald, Milow, Skindred, Trolley Snatcha or Modestep.

Reggae and urban party fans are familiar with the fact that Blazing Vibez is one of the most renowned reggae parties in Romania with more than 200 events to this day, in Bucharest and other cities. During B’ESTFEST Summer Camp, the Blazing Vibez stage will bring positive vibes: from roots to dub during the day and new roots to dancehall during the festival nights or even jungle and dubstep towards the early hours of the day, for the sleepless party people.

The Blaizing Vibez schedule will be created by two of the most appreciated local reggae communities, Reublika Verde and Jah Army. Born at the initiative of Bogdan Negroiu (El Negro), Republika Verde is an urban attitude crew which reunites a number of activists from the social and the artistic world of the local underground. While promoting the green, strong, fresh vibe of the new modern society, Republika Verde will take care of the roots and dub part of the Blazing Vibez line-up. Jah-Army is the first ever community to be built around the reggae movement in Romania. Active since 2004, it is always working towards spreading the “Rastafarian” movement as well as developping the “dancehall” culture – reggae-themed partys. Jah Army will be in charge of the new-roots, dancehall and jungle parts of the Blazing Vibez line-up.

Among the artists that have already confirmed their presence on the new stage we can count : Blazing Vibez Soundsystem, Republika Verde Crew (Planul Jim, Sistah Rastahfairy, Genochill&Amanet, DippaWizz, MC BBC), Kaya Foundation, Irie Warriors Sound, Chesarion, Ras T, Colentina Soundsystem, Phlo Da Shaolin, Lady Raizah, Selecta B, Jhivago and Praetor (ex-Veritasaga).

The festival organisers are also keen to continue environmental friendly initiatives with the support of one of Romania’s most renowned artists & eco-activists. The ‘B’ESTFEST goes green’ project aims to inform and co-interest all the involved parties (from the suppliers, sponsors and production team to the audience) on eco-green issues and to reduce the effects that events can have on the environment. Amongst last year’s initiatives was to encourage the audience to use public transport (with special bus services), as well as a rent-a-bike and car pooling scheme. The main headquarters of the program was the Green Village, a 100% self-sustained area within the festival site, which hosted various NGO’s, workshops and art expos (art made of waste), where everyone interested was able to get information and tips for a “greener” behaviour.
