EXIT takes place in the historic Petrovaradin Fortress, which is built high on the banks of the River Danube and offers stunning views over the city of Novi Sad. The ancient fortress site was originally occupied by the Romans, and re-built by the Austro Hungarian Empire to defend against the Turks in the 17th Century.

The Killers to headline EXIT Festival Day Zero

One of the greatest bands of our time The Killers will headline Exit Festival on 5 July 2017! They will play at the colossal Petrovaradin Fortress on newly added Day Zero and lead the bill with Liam Gallagher, Rag'n'Bone Man, Jake Bugg, Hardwell, Paul Kalkbrener, Duke Dumont, Dixon, Jamie Jones and many more previously announced acts for the following four days of the award-winning Serbian festival. The Vegas four will give fans an early glimpse of material from their hugely anticipated new album expected later this year, alongside their greatest hits such are "Mr. Brightside", "Somebody Told Me", "Human", "Runaways" and many more. Their first ever show in Serbia will be a part of an exclusive tour that includes selected festivals and a sold-out Hyde Park to follow right after the EXIT!

The Killers stormed the world with their 2004 debut, “Hot Fuss”, which went on to become one of that decade’s biggest selling albums and has since been hailed as one of the greatest debut albums of all time by Rolling Stone. Since then, each of the band’s four studio albums has topped the UK charts along with many more all over the globe, selling more than 25 million copies! The Killers are known for their humanitarian work and social activism being of the main participants of global awareness campaign against human trafficking MTV EXIT, which was launched in 2004 at the EXIT Festival!

The Killers formed in Las Vegas in 2001 after Brandon Flowers, the frontman of the band, came out fascinated from an Oasis concert and published an ad in a local newspaper looking for guitar, bass and drums. They formed the current line-up in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vanucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. The band has received countless accolades for their artistic achievement, including multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards, NME Awards and more. The Killers headlined all the major global festivals, while also selling out largest arenas like Madison Square Garden and stadiums like Wembley.

DAVID GUETTA JOINS EXIT FESTIVAL LINE UP

The world’s most influential music producer and DJ, David Guetta will perform on Friday, 8 July at EXIT Festival! The name behind the anthem of the impending UEFA EURO 2016, is set to arrive with a bang - one of the biggest productions of his career. Damon Albarn to Headline EXIT Festival

Amazing news that Damon Albarn joins the EXIT line up to headline the main stage.

DAMON ALBARN JOINS THE EXIT FESTIVAL LINE UP

Damon Albarn, the British musician best known as the frontman of Blur, co-creator of one of the most popular virtual acts in the woorld, Gorillaz, and an integral part in supergroups such as The Good, the Bad & the Queen and Rocket Juice & the Moon will play EXIT's Main Stage on Saturday 12th July, as part of a tour to mark the release of his first solo record 'Everyday Robots'.

Grammy award winner Damon Albarn's flourishing career, which counts various projects earned him so far five BRIT awards, eleven NME awards, six MTV awards, as well as nine Q awards. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide and his debut album with Gorillaz was sold in excess of 5 million copies worldwide, earning multi-platinum status. In April this year, Damon Albarn will present his first solo project, 'Everyday Robots', his most personal and autobiographical project since his musical journey began.

Damon Albarn will embark on a tour at the end of April starting in London, with further performances in Spain, France, Denmark, USA, The Netherlands and Belgium, and on July 12, Damon is coming to Serbia!

Damon Albarn has unveiled the lead single and the title track from his forthcoming debut solo album 'Everyday Robots' in January, whereas the video, a digital portrait of Damon by the artist and designer Aitor Thorup, is available at Damon Albarn's official Youtube channel, at this link. Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion and Bloc Party added to EXIT Festival

Continuing the R:Evolution, EXIT reveals the second wave of headliners which is sure not to disappoint. Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion and Bloc Party will join the already announced Atoms for Peace to rock the iconic Petrovaradin Fortess with many more to be announced. Taking place from 10th - 14th July the 14th edition of EXIT will serve up up an unbeatable five days of music, entertainment and adventure under the hot Balkan sunshine.

A welcome return for the reincarnated Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion, who last performed at EXIT in 2007. During his performance he defiantly declared "This ain't the last time you're gonna see this face." And he was right. British indie rock heavy weights Bloc Party will be playing EXIT and in Serbia for the first time, with band members Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong ready to reverberate their new sound around the fortress walls. In 2012 the band released their long awaited comeback album dubbed 'Four' following the bands three year hiatus. Charismatic Kele Oker is the lead singer of the band who has also pursued a successful solo career, and it is great to see him back together with Bloc Party - a band who have won many hearts and fans globally. Having released their debut album 'Silent Alarm' in 2005 which went platinum the band have released a total of four albums which have sold over 2 million worldwide.

EXIT R:Evolution - Atoms for Peace to Headline EXIT Festival

Playing for the first time in Serbia, Thom Yorke's new project - Atoms for Peace will spearhead the EXIT R:Evolution with their unique blend of experimental electronic rock where digital and analogue blur.

Joining Thom on the Main Stage will be Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker of Beck/REM and percussion virtuoso Mauro Refosco. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see such highly acclaimed artists performing on stage together in the unique setting of the Petrovaradin Fortress at EXIT.

Saturday EXIT welcomes Fela Kuti’s youngest son Seun Kuti together with his father’s well-known band, Egypt 80, who promise us a gig full of afro beats and an important social message weaved through his latest album ‘From Africa With Fury: Rise’, Novi Sad based Art band Obojeni program, the Rock’n’Roll icons Električni orgazam, and a great modern Serbian band from Bor, Goribor, whose music is a ”metaphysics of life, the state of consciousness, mind and sensefulness”. Death By Chocolate will perform on the same night as well as the most fascinating vocal of the new Serbian scene, Ivana Smolović, as a part of the new super-talented Indie act IKA. A perfect night will be complete with the performance of IN-THE-GO, heroes of the seaside Alternative Indie Rock from Split, Croatia.

The last day of the festival will now include the ten-piece New Zealand act Batucada Sound Machine with their mixture of Samba, Funk, Hip-hop and Soul who will play alongside icons of the former Yugoslavia’s bad boys – Split’s rappers Dječaci, and the Slovenian Dandelion Children, known for their specific genre which blends Punk, Funk, Country, Blues, Reggae and Progressive Rock. The domestic support comes from some of the most popular bands - Zemlja gruva, and the legendary Eyesburn.

SUBA STAGE:
The Suba Stage is another rising star of the EXIT festival program and this year, it’s all about collaboration and together with Dutch Magazine, DJ Broadcast, EXIT is bringing you the ultimate dance label on a nice Exit Friday - BOEMKLATSCH RECORDS, who will introduce themselves with the fantastic Equalizer show! The basis of this unique spectacle are sixteen 3-metre tall projection pillars, video-mapping the entire experience of the performing crew: Bart B More, Mike Mago, NAT 89, TWR72, Rip Tide, Pretty Young Trouble, Boemklatsch and Baskerville. Suba Friday will be one of the wildest parties of the forthcoming Exit!

Teaming up with the Russian Internet portal lookatme.ru, Exit presents the sound of the Russian underground on Saturday! First, we are welcoming Trud – the best new Russian indie forces. Followed by Elektra Monsterz, St. Petersburg’s new garage attraction. You have probably never witnessed rocking so hard and healthy, especially coming from Russia! Stoned Boys are youngsters combining multiple electronic influences to create a completely new genre, tagged by one reviewer as cosmo-dance. Ishome is a young producer and DJ from Krasnodar, unlimited when it comes to genres and Mark Schedrin and Leonid Lipelis are the sophisticated members of the group, from the mid-generation of Russian DJs. This is going to be one classy party!

Suba Stage is opened on Thursday by the best new Hungarian band – Volkova Sisters, the hottest Spanish electro attraction – The Zombie Kids and a special lo-fi lightshow made exclusively for them by the young Spanish artist Carlos Saez. Also on Thursday, we will be introduced to Belgrade’s KC Grad’s club night programme. Idemo na Mars is a theme night featuring domestic electronic music and It is also a popular radio show on Radio B92, promoting the hottest domestic electronic releases. Alongside Idemo na Mars, Suba will also host Banda Panda, a group of young people who have been organizing thematic parties in KC Grad for the past two years, which not only feature interesting musical line-up, but also interesting artistic performances.

On Sunday, will be performers from KC Grad, It’s A Dubstep Thing, The Middle Beast, a fresh act by the best Middle-Eastern DJ – Jade with oriental influences and electronic music. He will also be joined by his favourite VJ, TM. Playground Syndicate willclose this year’s Suba Stage, and are appearing as a result of the fresh Exit-Bestival twinning. Noah 'Rhythmtree' Priddle, Neil 'Beavz' Beaver and Tim 'AV Circus' Martin were discovered last year at a DJ competition organized by Bestival, after which they opened the famous Bollywood Stage at the festival. Bestival is sending this act to our Suba Stage, as a greeting to Exit and it will be a night to remember!

GO WILD AFTER 2AM: SUB FOCUS, SKREAM AND MISTERJAM

Joining the already announced acts of the After 2AM programme, Netsky&MC Dynamite, Drumsound & Bassline Smith & Dynamite MC, Borgore and Goldie & SP:MC will be three outstanding performances by Skream & Sgt Pokes, Sub Focus DJ Set & ID and MistaJam!

MAIN STAGE AFTER 2AM:
The Exit Festival audience are already familiar with the wizard of dubstep, Skream, who is returning Exit’s Main Stage. Having performed with Benga in 2008, and last year with Magnetic Man, Skream returns to the fortress on Sunday, July 15 with SGT Pokes. Let’s get this dubstep party started!

The opening night of the festival will be crowned by true D’n’B chaos, created for us by the one of electronic music's most exciting names Sub Focus. Nick Douwma's rise through the ranks of underground drum & bass along side his peers, Chase & Status and Pendulum to become a major player in electronic music has been nothing short of spectacular. Since releasing his self titled triumphant 2009 debut which featured hits "Rock It" and "Follow The Light", Sub Focus has been pushing the boundaries with his live show, and working hard in the studio. Earlier this month Sub Focus released "Out The Blue" feat. Alice Gold, a ready made summer anthem and an introduction to his second full-length album which we are desperately waiting for!

On the same day, EXIT are also welcoming MistaJam, the mutli-genre music pioneer from BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra. Mistajam is a three time winner of the Sony Academy Award. He champions artists from a variety of music genres through his daily radio shows, with an intention to fill the gap between mainstream and genre-oriented audience, thus, his show's slogan - “The Key to the Underground”.

HAPPY NOVI SAD STAGE:
Happynovisad Stage has also called in reinforcements adding - Jimmy Edgar, Addison Groove, Jon Convex, Trevino, Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka!

Happynovisad Stage proudly presents a producer, photographer, multi-instrumentalist from Detroit, the one and only - Jimmy Edgar. His music is an interesting blend of electro-funk and a sensual instrumental R’n’B and his latest album, “Majenta“, has already earned positive reviews from Resident Advisor and NME. Jimmy Edgar will also give Exit’s audience a treat, his LIVE AV set!

A good way to start the Exit journey is heading to Happynovisad Stage and witness the performance of Addison Groove. This dubstep artist, also known as Headhunter has been focused for the past year on the Chicago “Juke“, and his debut album “Transistor Rhythm“ was released on Modeselektor’s “50 Weapons“ label this year.

The same day, another performance will satisfy the needs of all electro fans. Jon Convex, known for his D’n’B works within the project “Instra:mental“, where Convex is joined by Boddik.

What happens when a D’n’B giant goes astray and finds himself in the house music world? Trevino will explain it to us on Thursday, July 12. Known in the D’n’B circles as Marcus Intalex we are 100% percent sure that it will feel like home for him at Happynovisad Stage!

Finally, the opening night of the festival we also welcome Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka, a duo whose genre is defined as a mixture of UK rhythms dominant in their individual work, with stunning vocals by Abigail Wyles and a convincing background of Berlin techno. Their latest album 'They!Live' earned high critical acclaim and praises from the biggest musical magazines. This summer, Happynovisad hosts one of their numerous performances, where they will present both the material from 'They!Live', and material from their upcoming projects.

This July, Exit Festival will be overloaded with electricity, as the ever expanding eclectic line up is joined by some of the most progressive electronic music performers making EXIT the number one festival destination for decerning party people and dance music lovers.

The impressive Dance Arena line-up gets even bigger and better with it's eclectic line up. Critically aclaimed act Knife Party are first up and will be performing on July 15th. A side project from Pendulum’s Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, this Australian electro-house-dubstep duo launched to stratospheric heights after remixing Swedish House Mafia, pumping their high octane fuel injection to the public sonisphere, they are smashing dancefloors worldwide, and will for sure be tearing up the fortress walls in a similar fashion. Jacques Lu Cont, a man with many names - Les Rythmes Digitales, Paper Faces, Man With Guitar and Thin White Duke, gained the current super-popularity mostly thanks to his decade-long collaboration with Madonna, and whose renowned album "Confessions on a Dance Floor" was produced by none other than him. Jacques Lu Cont’s splendorous career has been crowned with three Grammys up to this date, thanks to his original scores as well as his remixes and will be performing on Thursday July 12th. Thursday will also feature Eats Everything, the British producer who has recently exploded in the underground house scene, made his mark on the famous Essential Mix on BBC Radio1, and is currently under Hot Creations, dirtybird, Hypercolour, Greco Roman to name a few labels. His tour bus will have to make another stop – at this year’s Exit Festival along with label mate American producer Claude Von Stroke, whose tracks "Deep Throat", sold in over 10,000 copies, and "Who's Afraid Of Detroit", turned him into a touring machine. His label, symbolically named "dirtybird" became the primary exporter of electronic music in the United States, with over 50 EPs released since the foundation in 2005. The same night Saturday 14th July, Benoit & Sergio start the proceedings with their inimitable take on house and techno, expect a juxtaposition of pristine production and lyricism which will prove why they are one of the most unique and interesting outfits in dance music today. They will be joined by German and London underground stalwarts, Tobi Neuman b2b Geddes. Stemming both from the uber cool underground scenes in Germany and London respectively, Tobi Neuman resident of Berlin’s Watergate and Weekend and Geddes heading mulletover, London’s biggest and longest running underground warehouse party. Both mix a myriad of music that develops its own soft, dark gravity, balancing on the fine, almost irrecognizable line between house and techno: sexy and friendly, finishing off the Saturday night perfectly.

After 2AM program traditionally welcomes some of the greatest Drum’n’ Bass and Dubstep scene. The second day of our festival features one of the leaders of the new d’n’b talents in Europe, and a star for Hospital Records, Netsky. We have enough time to prepare for his second studio album, starting with his latest single “Come Alive” which is due May 21. Drumsound & Bassline Smith, will also present their work at the festival on the second day. The British production team, consisting of Andrew Wright, Benjamin Wiggett (Drumsound), and Simon 'Bassline' Smith, who release their work under their very own Technique Recordings are BBC Radio 1’s favourites. They released their single “Close“ in August last year, which won the award for the Best Song and Best Video at this year’s “Official Drum & Bass Awards“. Both acts are featured by MC Dynamite, a globetrotter and the jungle, drum'n' bass, hip hop, dubstep and reggae dancefloor preacher. On July 14, After 2AM program hosts the Israeli Dubstep producer and DJ, Asaf Borger, hiding under the alias Borgore. A self-proclaimed “ young man following big dreams, a private beach and the olsen twins.“ classifies his musical genre, a mixture of drum beats with Heavy Metal influences as “Gorestep“. The last, but not the least, we welcome Goldie, on the last day of the festival. Goldie is an English musician, DJ, visual artist, actor and a celebrity, who will be accompanied by one of the most innovative and wanted MCs of the world, SP:MC.

The second-biggest Exit electronic music stage, Happynovisad, hot spot for the alternative electronic acts, is preparing this year’s programme for the fans of the most progressive musical genres. Friday, July 13 welcomes performers from the highly influential, top quality Hotflush Recordings label. The British producer, currently residing in Berlin, Sigha, is one of the leading techno producers of the label. Alongside these two icons, Happynovisad stage is, on Friday, also hosting Tim Van de Meutter a.k.a. Locked Groove, who carries his own signature – an explosive blend of industrial techno and a melancholic deep house which assign a star-status to him. Finally, another Hotflush baby, George Fitzgerald, famous for his original house-garage-techno-dubstep cocktail will make Friday 13th on Happynovisad unforgettable! Saturday, July 14 will see the dawn of a young Belfast-based producer Jack Hamill, who gained his popularity under the alias Space Dimension Controller. Claiming to be born in the 24th century, he returned through time, accidentally crashing his Electropod to be stuck here with nothing but presenting his funky electro sound. He will just have to stick with our outdated airplanes and dancefloors before he gets back to 2352.

Elektrana stage, the place of all jovial electro lovers, announces its marvellous and abundant line-up for this year, alongside the already announced Sneaky Sound System and When Saints Go Machine. Thursday, July 12 will see the appearance of a dancefloor favourite, Christian Strobe, an 80s music baby, who ended up as a child of indie music, cosmic house and nu-disco. A day later, Elektrana stage welcomes Thieves Like Us, a five-piece band who manages to combine post-punk, new wave, italo disco, synth pop, and yet sound so electro-poppish that it makes you wan to dance all night! The same day, the stage welcomes Greek musical genius Nikkon, whose opus is described as a chill-out Electro sound paired with dreamy female vocals who give his music an additional, deep and refined note.

The striking festival day, Saturday, will be reserved for Tapeaters. A Russian Electro-Pop/Funk duo formed in 2009 features a sound created by warm vintage synths, funky vibe and a vocal polyphony all in one big emotion. The same day, something completely different strikes the fortress - DAT Politics, one of the most important electro-exatic bands on the planet. They are characterized by a precisely-sharpened turbo pop mood, while their computers create some of the catchiest melodies you have ever danced to.

Franz + Shape, Detachments and A Terrible Splendour will crown the festival on the last day, Sunday, July 15. The unique sound of Franz + Shape is created from a mix of acid wave and electro music. Their live performances are packed with a great electro sound combined with synths, drums and samplers, and the crowded dancefloor is their natural habitat! The Detachments, led by a creative mind – an artist, graphic designer, DJ and actor hailing from Lancaster, Bastien Marshal, is an interesting post - post- electroclash specimen. Currently, they are preparing a new album which will be mixed by none other than Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order). Finally, tales of blackmailing, desperation, cruelty and hopelessness will be told by London’s MM Lyle and Martin Block, who are served together under the name A Terrible Splendour. They call their genre “new romantic cabaret“, and are inspired by the artistic creations from the likes of Automelodi, Fisherspooner, Visage and Gina X. It shouldn’t take a long time to figure out their sound – under a dark and gloomy synth pop veil.

MORE ACTS ANNOUNCED FOR EXIT AND TWINNING WITH BESTIVAL

The ever expanding eclectic line up at this years EXIT Festival continues to grow as more acts are announced to play at the amazing and awe inspiring Petrovaradin fortress this summer including; Ekykah Badu, Hercules & Love Affair, Citizens! Skindred, The Toy Dolls, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.) and Street Dogs.

First up on the Main Stage is Erykah Badu, the undisputed queen of R'n'B and Neosoul, who will perform on Saturday, 14th July. Also on the Main stage will be New York-based band Hercules & Love Affair who will perform on Friday 13th July with their perfect combination of disco, nu-disco and house music. On Friday 13th July The Fusion stage welcomes the hot British five-piece act Citizens! who have firmed their place in the music world implementing key elements of a good pop song, melodic vocals and music which will make your shoes dance themselves out.

For those of you who like loud guitars, maximally-amped stages and an ear-bleeding hard sound, EXIT brings you Skindred, The Toy Dolls, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.) and Street Dogs. Exit Festival never lacked high quality punk and metal bands and for those of you who like loud guitars, maximally-amped stages and an ear-bleeding hard sound, EXIT brings you Skindred, The Toy Dolls, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.) and Street Dogs. Newport-based reggae-metal act Skindred will perform on the Main Stage, The Fusion Stage will be rocked by the British punk rock legends Toy Dolls, while Explosive Stage welcomes Street Dogs, and one of the best thrash metal acts, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I).

Even more exciting news is that EXIT will be teaming up with Bestival to take part in the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) Twin Festivals initiative for the first time in 2012. Deriving from the popular ‘twin towns’ concept the scheme aims to create a cultural exchange between the UK’s leading independent festivals and their international counterparts and both festivals have plenty of ideas up their sleeves to benefit both artists and festivals goers from Serbia and the Isle of Wight this summer.

Twinned festivals will be sharing not only artists and expertise but also audiences, as 10 lucky competition winners will be given the chance to experience the twin festival in action. And one lucky winner from each festival will also get the chance to win a trip to the twin festival with travel and accommodation for them and a mate. Over on the Fusion Stage one of Scandinavia’s best indie bands, Little Dragon will perform on Sunday 15th July providing the best tonic in the form of Swedish electro pop act Little Dragon. A four-piece band, headed by the astonishing vocals of Japanese-Swedish singer Yukimi Nagano. Little Dragon have released 3 studio albums – with the most recent Ritual Union (2011), earning rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Rolling Stone magazine describes the album “hits a sweet spot between the futuristic soul of their debut and the synth pop of 2009's Machine Dreams“. There is no disputing the combination of Nagano’s dazzling voice and collaborations with eclectic artists including Gorillaz, DJ Shadow and SBTRKT, serve to confirm the groups rising popularity and their set is not to be missed.

More underground and serving up the finest cutting edge electronica the HappyNoviSad Stage presents the R&S Records showcase, featuring Lone, Pariah, Teengirl Fantasy Live and The Chain. The British duet, Teengirl Fantasy, have achieved numerous successes in only three years with their single from the album 7AM, named Cheaters, which was was named Single of the Year by Fact Magazine, and toured with the grand Crystal Castles. Lone aka Matt Cutler has released four albums and 5 EPs in only five years with his most significant work Lemurian, released in 2008. The critics described the album as a sensual release with a distinctive identity. Matt Cutler is also active in a project named Kona Triangle. Under the moniker Pariah hides the dubstep and future garage producer Arthur Cayzer, who released his single, Detroit Falls, as well as an EP, Safehouses on R&S Records. He is also famous for remixing tracks for the The xx and Erykah Badu. Alongside his colleague, James Blake, Pariah has received praises from very influential media such as Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, and is being considered one of the most important producers of Britain’s new wave of dance music, identified by many as post-dubstep. Concluding the list, we are proud to welcome another name of R&S Records’ - The Chain, aka London producers Dan Foat and Nathan Boddy.

First up is Plan B aka Ben Drew - singer-songwriter, rapper, actor and film director came to prominence with the 2006 release of the critically acclaimed hip hop album ‘Who Needs Actions When You Got Words’. His next project, the soul-influenced ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’, takes the listener on a journey of a man who finds success hard to handle and then hits rock bottom. Released in 2010, the album went on to become the fifth biggest seller of the year and continued a chart presence through 2011. Featuring crafted hit singles like ‘Stay Too Long’, ‘Prayin’ and ‘The Recluse’, awards have abounded for artist and album alike including Brit Award for Best British Male and a trio of Ivor Novellos: Ben Drew Songwriter of the Year; The Defamation Of Strickland Banks Album of The Year and ‘She Said’ - Most Performed Work. This years electronic antics steps up another notch announcing one of the biggest djs on the planet right now Avicii in the famous Dance Arena on Thursday 12th July. The lad needs little introduction as Avicii is THE rising star of the electronic music scene making the top 10 in the 2011 DJ Top 100 poll at only 21 years of age and scoring millions of fans with his 'Levels' track which reached the top 10 in 14 European countries. Hailing from Sweden and having first emerged onto the scene in 2008 with a remix of the theme song to the Commodore 64 video game Lazy Jones, Avicii's first release was signed to Strike Recordings, entitled 'Lazy Lace.' If you don’t already know about him then you will, Avicii is definitely one to watch and his recent collaboration with David Guetta on a track called 'Sunshine' was nominated for a Grammy award under the category for Best Dance Recording. Avicii is already taking on the dance music world by storm - Guetta better watch his back!

Making a welcome return to the EXIT Dance Arena is the cheekiest cat in dance, Felix Da Housecat, a name as synonymous with house music as it is with being the moniker of one of the greatest innovators of the current Electro sound. Regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago House, Felix da Housecat's breakthrough 2001 album, “Kittenz and Thee Glitz”, took the dance music world by storm as his collaborations with the now infamous Miss Kittin on "Silver Screen" and "Madame Hollywood" and "What Does it Feel Like" spawned a synth club revival. Felix Da Housecat has music in his veins and the world has recognized this with two Grammy Award nominations for the legendary DJ/Producer. Felix is one of electronic music pioneers and we can’t wait for him to dominate the dancefloor at EXIT.

Performing live on the same night is the unusually named Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) moniker Orlando Higginbottom, swinging between an overt musicality and scarily on-point dancefloor sensibility, ripping up clubs around the globe with his live show of bizarre instruments, glitter cannons and of course… dancing dinosaurs. His first two EPs (released in 2009 and 2010) have already stirred up the commotion around TEED, set to culminate this May with the release of the debut album, so brace yourselves for exclusives in the Dance Arena. Orlando’s greatest and latest adventure is the famous trip to Congo, where he worked closely with local musicians, as a producer, personally invited by Damon Albarn and Oxfam on their DRC LP project.

On Sunday 15th July French electronic music pioneer Laurent Garnier joins EXIT for an unforgettable finale with his new tour entitled ‘L.B.S’. Only three letters but several different meanings: "Laurent + Ben + Scan X", "Live Booth Sessions", "Loud Bass & Samples", LBS is a new, very club orientated project that will bring together Laurent Garnier (DJ & machines), Benjamin Rippert (keyboards) and Stephane "Scan X" Dri (machines). Straight out of the DJ booths of some of the best clubs on the planet, L.B.S offers the best of both worlds by combining the versatility and flexibility of the DJ set with the ability to experiment tracks live. Two decks, a Rhodes, several keyboards and machines will be used to create organic improvised four-hour sets guaranteed to work the dance floor and keep those feet moving. Laurent Garnier explains a little about his project "I especially want to carry on creating and exploring whether through Dj-ing or playing live. But also, get even closer to the public than we can in a festival. During the live sections of L.B.S I will be developing and fine-tuning new tracks in front of (and with) the crowd to create the live of the future, but also to test out new tracks. We’ll be taking our time, something that isn’t really the done thing nowadays!!” Laurent has always pushed the boundaries of electronic music and we can’t wait to see what this new project has in store for the 20,000 strong Dance Arena crowd.

Saturday 14th July will see the enigmatic Canadian Azari & III take to the stage for a live performance. Having received many rave reviews in 2011 and produced highly regarded tracks such as ‘Hungry for the Power’ and ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’, this mysterious act have been active under various pseudonyms since the mid-90s, and have experimented with every genre, from garage rock to house and disco. Numerous original tracks and remixes vary from melancholic numbers with a slice of ambient, all the way to dancefloor anthems knit together with techno. Controversies associated with the first video for ‘Hungry for the Power’ which was deleted from Youtube for explicit content only fuelled the hype around them, with the debut album named after the band itself, which was released in August 2011 on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, earning exquisite scores from critics and fans alike.

On Thursday 12th July Brodinski will take to the decks, closing the first night of the festival. Brodinski is one of the most exciting young producers to have emerged on the scene in the past few years. His sets contain everything from hard techno, pumped up house to old school and the freshest hip hop. The Brodinski stir-up started in October of 2007, when his first single Bad Runner saw the light of day. Brodinski surfed on the waves of glory in the best possible manner – the second EP, Oblivion soon followed, for the label Turbo Recordings, which was later followed by a compilation named The Best of Everything. The next logical step for the 24-year old was the formation of his very own label, named Bromance, in November of 2011. Brodinski started this year with another boom, a remix of a track named ‘On'n'On’, by the French duo Justice.

First of the acts for the elclectic Elektrana Stage are Danish electro pop band When Saints Go Machine. The four-piece band was formed in 2007, and their debut album named 'Ten Makes a Face’ was released two years later. This all-boy electro pop band, often compared to the likes of Bloc Party and Empire Of The Sun, replaced the electro pop melancholy of the first album on their new release named 'Konkylie', with a more mature sound and energetic tones, leaning towards dance electro as opposed to the previous Scandinavian pop effect. Combining vocoder and a colorful downbreaking electro effect, though associated more with indie rock than electro, WSGM are tieing together a unique frame, creating a new echo in the history of electro pop.

Second wave of acts for EXIT Festival 2012; Wolfmother, Gossip, Richie Hawtin and more

Joining the already announced New Order, Wolfmother and the Gossip and are new additions to the Main Stage line up.

On Thursday 12th July the charismatic Beth Ditto will return to Novi Sad with the Gossip for an opening night to remember. Combing soul, punk and Beth’s incredible vocals, the Gossip have gained an army of fans worldwide with their infectious brand of powerful and seductive post-punk rock music. Their third album "Standing in the Way of Control" brought them international critical acclaim, from which “Music for Men" was the follow up release in 2009 and their first with a major label. With hits such as "Heavy Cross" and "Long Distance Love", the Gossip will once again turn the Main Stage into an electrifying dance cauldron with their extraordinary energy.

Australian band Wolfmother will perform on Sunday 15th July with their exhilarating brand of no nonsense rock. Having been famously described as “what you’d get when Mars Volta, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and White Stripes collided in space” their performance will not to disappoint. In their relatively short career the band have won with a plethora of international awards, including a Grammy for their hit single “Woman” taken from the band’s 2005 debut self-titled album. Rapidly becoming a mainstay on modern-rock radio stations around the world, EXIT is excited to welcome such a globally acclaimed band to the main stage.

The mighty Dance Arena line up is also hotting up with some of the biggest and coolest names in the electronic music scene including Richie Hawtin, Miss Kitten, Art Department and Maceo Plex.

Richie Hawtin needs no introduction as one of the world’s top DJ’s and producers who is a leading exponent of the minimal techno scene and an influential player in second wave of Detroit Techno. Also known for his abstract, minimal works under the alias Plastikman and head honcho of the Minus label, Richie is always an artist to push the boundaries and he makes a welcome return to the EXIT Dance Arena on Saturday 14th July with his new and exciting LED show with visuals by Ali Demirel.

Joining Hawtin on the 14th July will be the devine Miss Kitten, who will perform at EXIT for the first time. Having honed her skills and progressed her sound into the more leftfield, electro and electronic realm, Miss Kitten has an uncanny and intuitive sense of selection that not only flows but also maintains that primary sense of the party. As a producer with her long time partner the Hacker she produced tracks such as "Frank Sinatra" and "1982" which launched her to the electronic elite, and collaborations with the liked of Felix Da Housecat and Sven Väth strengthened her newly established status. This year, Miss Kittin is preparing her third solo album, so we can expect exclusive premieres at Dance Arena.

Crosstown Rebels sensation Art Department will make their first ever performance on the Dance Arena on Sunday 15th July. The duo consisting of Canadian techno/house star Kenny Glasgow and the biggest Canadian rising star Jonny White. Kenny’s career goes back to the 80s, when he released for Narcotic, Jinxx, Turbo as well as his own Method 11/11 label, and White’s label, No. 19, which has a discography growing at ultra-speed, currently stands at the leading place of the international scene. Separately, they have a great number of critically acclaimed releases, and currently they are recognized as the most advanced underground producers of North America.

Also confirmed for the 15th July is Maceo Plex, one of the many rising starts of the Crosstown Rebels label. After many years of prolific works on such labels as Treibostoff, Dumb Unit, Audiomatique, to name a few Maceo aka Maetrik travelled the word playing in some of the best clubs such as Rex, Cocoon, Fabric, Womb etc. Since then Maceo has begun to strip back his robotic Armor to expose a more musical and groove based side with his music shining brighter than the star Sirius and his set at EXIT will be one of galactic proportions.

Formed after the demise of Joy Division, New Order are one of the most critically acclaimed bands of our time and have influenced the music scene for years. Swiss-Chilean DJ and producer Luciano who worked his way up the ranks alongside many of the initiators of the Latin Merican electronic music scene. Now living in Switzerland his mixed Chilean and Swiss identity shows in his music with a mystical blend of deep techno and electro and a colourful splash of rhythms alongside his trademark groovy and minimal beats. Reboot is another returning artist to look forward to, with another awe inspiring live performance from the German musician whose DJ sets incorporate the whole spectrum from deep minimal sounds to driving electronic-tech vibes and old school house. Kenny Larkin is one of the world leaders of Detroit techno in the electronic music industry and has mesmerized crowds across the globe for nearly twenty years with his music and he will do the same the summer in the EXIT Dance Arena. Hailing as one of Beatportals’ artists to watch in 2009 Robert Dietz has honed his musical prowess on the Frankfurt club scene to create his own hypnotic, sexy, nuanced take on electronic music. And last but by no means least is Maayan, whose global upbringing has resulted in the creation of a diverse sound that includes an ass friendly sense of the groove and a bubbling sense of funk with a wooly low end and crystalline highs.

Renowned for its unique fortress location and unbeatable atmosphere, EXIT Festival 2011 was yet again an amazing festival experience for thousands of music loving party-goers from around the world!

Taking place from 7th to 10th July with 4 days of hot Serbian sunshine reaching temperatures of 30 degrees and endless blue skies, EXIT was the perfect festival holiday destination. By day - spending time leisurely cafe hopping in the picturesque city of Novi Sad, or splashing around in the River Danube on the beach at the EXIT Village to keep cool. And by night - over 45,000 people partied at the festival to see headline artists such as; Arcade Fire, Pulp. Editors, M.I.A, Santigold, Portishead and Grinderman. Saturday was sold out for Jamiroquai’s show and the festival celebrated its 2 millionth visitor!

Wowing the crowds, Editors were ecstatic - “We went up to the festival as punters the day before our show and felt it was the most fantastic place to watch live music. When we finally played the following night, the crowd, the view and the atmosphere were even more perfect. Exit is a special place!”

While the legendary Dance Arena once again proved why it is one of the best in the world for electronic music fans with its incredible energy and an awe inspiring backdrop set in the moat of the 17th Century fortress walls. Artists such as Underworld, Deadmau5, Groove Armada, Fedde le Grand, DJ Sneak had the 20,000 strong crowd in the palm of their hands and sunrise was the perfect setting for the likes of Joris Voorn, Better Lost than Stupid, Rebel Rave and local hero’s Marco Nastic, Dejan Milicevic and Marko Miloslajvevic closing set.
