Canadian Indie-rock band The Rural Alberta Advantage formed in 2006 and are about to release their third album - Mended with gold. the band consists of Singer-songwriter Nils Edenloff, percussionist Paul Banwatt, and multi instrumentalist Amy Cole. To write the new album, Nils Edenloff rented a remote cottage in the Bruce Peninsula - a beautiful forested area which is also home to plenty of bears.

I'm not a huge fan of Indie rock so for a band that falls into that genre to impress me takes some doing - I generally find most inide rock bands fairly dull, but happily that's not the case here. This album has definitely impressed me. The vocals are what I would describe as Indie-rock style, but the music is far more varied and interesting than most indie rock. The songs are extremely well written, and the album is a real pleasure to listen to.

Check out the lyric video for the song "Terrified" to hear for yourself how the band sound...

This is a great album - definitely a cut above your average indie-rock band

"Mended with gold" will be released on 29th September 2014 via Paper Bag records
