They are punk-rock band of superlatives. Band was founded in 1987 and since 1989 known as Green Day. Bassist Mike Dirnt, drummer Tré Cool and singer, guitarist and showman Billie Joe Armstrong have in the 90's more than just changed, if not start up a complete revolution of the genre produced on the American punk scene.
With hits "Basket Case," "When I Come Around," "American Idiot", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "21 Guns" and many more, they have succeeded with ease, to inspire all generations and Green Day's songs run into each electronic player from high school students, through the college graduates to the lawyers.
Green Day are also exceptional live band. They have already proved in many concerts around the world. It's nice to hear that Vienna is also on the itinerary. With the Krieau Wien, which is a great venue for this one-day festival is open air party atmosphere guaranteed.

American rock band Green Day will perform 29th may in Vienna on Krieau Rocks 2013 and fans now can enjoy for unique show! Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Coll for summer European tour prepare special, three-hours show. They will not miss the greatest hits, new song from Uno!, Dos!, Tré! trilogy, spectacular light show and some surprises.
History of punk-rock group started in 1987 in California, US. Green Day during the 25 years on the scene has become one of the best concert groups in the world. Since 1990, when Green Day released debut album 39/Smooth , they released eleven recordings together. A major breakthrough in their careers meant album Dookie (1994), which include the world hits like Longview, When I Come Around and Basket Case. Another great achievement was album American Idiot in 2004 which fired Green Day to the absolute peak of the musical scene. The Group confirmed their position in 2009 when was presented album 21st Century Breakdown.
In 2011 they released a live album of greatest hits - Awesome as Fuck.
Last year Green Day released three new albums - ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré!. It's a trio of independent albums that are expected together to create a grand unified whole.
