2010-08-09 14:14 - Why not be a hero?

Have some guts this summer, get to die for tickets quickly and don't miss on the biggest urban happening.
I'm gonna freeze some guys up in the air during the skateboarding competition, while they do their tricks and make you envious about how cool they are.
Besides the coolness of this festival, Heroes can be proud of taking place in one of the biggest skate parks you can find in Eastern Europe. Someone will get his hands on a 5000€ cash prize on the BMX competition that will gather 12 professional riders. Urban artists show off with their originality and style and there will be plenty of it: 12 crews, each with 5 writers.
Street artist will have their say. Skate park as an art gallery. Artists that are not bound to the classical working space will attend and make Youth Park a place of unconventional art. And then again, there's dancing. Street dancing that is, with 10 crews, duet and solo performers. Film lovers don't get to complain, as "In search of the Miraculous" composed by Pontus Alv will be launched there and will give you some insights on what urban lifestyle means.

Heroes that will be delighted to give a courageous performance are: Dub FX and band, up to 8 members on stage, Chase and Status together with MC Rage, Borgore, Dropdread, Gojira, DJ Hype.
No need to tell you more. This is the place to take lessons on urban culture.

Street Heroes, only a click away.
3 days, 12-14th August, Youth Park, Bucharest.

2010-07-23 10:40 - Standon Calling for you

Final line-up and 2-day Tickets for Standon Calling

We're excited to announce the final line-up and day splits for Standon Calling 2010, as well as two-day Saturday and Sunday tickets. These tickets include camping and are priced at £75 for adults and £65 for teens. We have music starting at midday each day and running until the early hours. Check out our full line-up here, but these are some highlights:

Friday
Sampling party-starter El Guincho and live beat merchants Metronomy will get things going on the Main Stage before headliners Liars deliver the sort of live show you can tell you kids about in years to come. Over on the Twisted Licks Stage Three Trapped Tigers and And So I Watch You From Afar will battle it in a 21st Century sonic duel, before Fucked Up make the loudest noise of the night ahead of genre-blenders and critical darlings These New Puritans. Swedish experimentalists Wild Birds & Peacedrums offer something a bit different on the Crooked House Stage, as do Balkan folk-fuelled headlining duo A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Later on Filthy Dukes host one of their legendary Kill Em All parties, while German dance guru Pantha Du Prince also plays a late-night set.

Saturday
We've had to buy a bigger Main Stage to accommodate Etienne de Crecy and his giant cube in his only 2010 UK festival appearance. Before him we come over all soulful with Alice Russell and Casiokids return with bags of energy and electropop. British Sea Power are famed for their festival shows and should serve up some spectacular lunacy on the Twisted Licks Stage. Also make sure you catch the increasingly hyped The Phantom Band and Esben and the Witch. After a few years off The Magic Numbers should be in fine voice on the Crooked House Stage, while dark punk-blues duo Jo Gideon & The Shark are always worth watching. Silver Columns and Gold Panda provide some late-night sets, while Greco-Roman Soundsystem h ave something very special in store for the early hours.

Sunday
Can you think of a better band to watch after a long day in the sun than Cuban icons Buena Vista Social Club? Nope, neither can we. Before them on the Main Stage we've got Danish collective Efterklang. There's definitely a tropical flavour on Sunday with African beat borrowers Fool's Gold on the Main Stage and Gilles Peterson headlining the Twisted Licks Stage with Spanish dance band Delorean in support. Antifolk hipster and comic book nut Jeffrey Lewis headlines the Crooked House Stage before the party stretches well into Monday over at Camp Alcatraz. Yes, that's right: our nightclub is open each and every night.
